Physical Description: Balidar are technically bipedal, in that their hip joints allow them to put their legs directly below their body. They will willingly walk on their hind limbs in a bipedal fashion to some extent, but most often braciate or knuckle-walk (depending on species) due to preference. They have a torso, head, two arm and two legs. They have five major sense organs, in which four are located on the head. They have two eyes, two ears, one mouth, one nose (all located on the head) and a large set of nervous tissue throughout their skin. They are descendents of early canine-like primates. Balidar body types are bulky and strong. They are shorter than most other races, with stiff, muscular builds. The average height of an adult Balidar is about 1.67 meters (5 feet 6 inches) tall. The average mass of an adult Balidar is 72.5 kg (160 lbs) for males and 54.4 kg (120 lbs) for females.
Balidar are furry, with thick, cotton-like hair. The flesh can be brown, tan, white or gray in color, varying on their environment. The Balidar race has an average anatomy which stems from their ancestors. They have heightened senses, including acute hearing, olfactory sensors and site. As Balidar age, they tend to wrinkle and gray in skin and fur. They have sharp, carnivorous teeth which help them shred prey. Their digestive systems are made to digest raw meats.
Balidar are carnivorous. They have moderate life spans, living for an average of 70 years. They reach sexual maturity at 13 to 16 years of age. Females continue to develop physically until age 18 while males develop until age 20. Their physical climax starts at age 15 years, but can stretch out until 35 years before slowly fading in strength and stamina. A Balidar is considered elderly (and incapable of certain physical actives) when they reach 60. They can live in most temperate, cold or hot environments provided they have appropriate shelter. Balidar have a relatively average birthrates, able to give birth every ten months. They only give birth to one offspring per birth. Balidar also have very adaptable bodies which can adjust to their environments in order to survive.
Culture: Balidar are very protective. Their culture surrounds itself around territories, scents and possession. More than any other creatures, Balidar tend to value their pack and associations over their own well being. They believe in close, personal bonds and often become overly passionate when dealing with those they are close to. Balidar work well with many other races, so long as they have connected with them socially first. They tolerate their ancient enemies, the Athiocs, an endangered race native to their planet. Balidar society depends on a hierarchy based off of pack mentality. They believe in monogamous relationships and heavily support the ideals of marriage. Once pair of mates marries, they will both protect their offspring with their lives, no matter what it may cost. Balidar are extremely protective, and can become ferocious if their personal possessions or home are disturbed.
