| T.A.F. POLICEThe T.A.F. Police Forces are a constituted body of persons empowered by the T.A.F. to enforce the law, property, and limit civil disorder within T.A.F. territory. Their powers include the legitimized use of force, carrying of firearms and detaining suspects. They are separate from the T.A.F. military branches, however, they do work closely with gendarmerie and military police in civil regulations. Law enforcement, however, constitutes only part of T.A.F. Police Force’s activity. Policing includes an array of activities in different situations, but the predominant ones are concerned with the preservation of order. They are registered not only with the T.A.F., but the Terran Alliance, and have special jurisdiction to preserve order within Prometheus Enterprises and the House of Veneration territories, if there is no sanctioned law enforcement to administer regulations. T.A.F. Police Forces are not responsible for patrolling space (T.A.F. Armed Forces have that authority), but can intercept suspicious crafts if they are on any sanctioned off-planet police assignments. This act of space policing can be touchy though, and is often avoided unless completely necessary. T.A.F. Police Forces have special jurisdictions that they are allocated to upon graduation from cadet training. If a T.A.F. Police Officer wishes to leave their jurisdiction for anything from an investigation to apprehension of a suspect, they must report via communications before they have temporary authority in that sphere. T.A.F. Police Forces have very different objectives within their planning then the Armed Forces. They have very little to do with pirate regulation in the Milky Way, instead focusing on T.A.F. citizen-on-citizen conflict. Recent priorities include limiting illegal stimulant, discontinuing bacteria trade and bringing a close to terrestrial slavery. Their Alpha Chief of Command is the highest ranking T.A.F. Police Forces member and must either live on Earth or Earth’s Moon in adherence of the “Backyard Order” of 38’.

| T.A.F. Special Police Unit "Sherlocks" The T.A.F. Special Police units are a constituted body of persons empowered by the T.A.F. to enforce the law and investigate past crimes. They are separate from the T.A.F. Police Forces in procedures, however, they do work closely with Force for most of their cases. T.A.F. Special Police are not obligated to patrol streets, answer to emergency calls or guard T.A.F. property. They are however, expected to intercept criminal behavior if they are in the presence of it during the act. T.A.F. Special Police do not have to report in when investigating in certain T.A.F. Police jurisdictions, owning free reign of any territory within T.A.F. regions. They instead are only expected to use techniques, science and psionics if available to solve past crimes be it burglary, theft or murder. All T.A.F. Special Police have the same powers of T.A.F. Police, but can also search homes or property unwarranted or request T.A.F. records without justification. All T.A.F. Special Police must have at one time served as a T.A.F. Police Trooper to apply and often also have T.A.F. Armed Forces experience under their belt. Their rank is special and does not supersede T.A.F. Police rankings such as sergeant, lieutenant, etc., but instead surpasses the rank only for investigation purposes. This usually puts many Special Police and high ranking officers at odds as their can be some conflict as to who is in charge during certain circumstances. Most times Special Police will take charge during organized raids, property seizure or during interrogations. T.A.F. Special Police must pass a strict testing regiment to be accepted into the special unit and the odds are usually not in the applicant’s favor. Once inducted, they spend several months studying under some of the best T.A.F. Law psychologists, professors and scientists before finally receiving assignment. T.A.F. Special Police are so focused in the skills that have to do with their line of work that they’ve been dubbed “Sherlocks” by the public because of their efficiency. Most Special Police are accused of being arrogant and cocky, but this tends to come naturally with their given authority given as well as their reputed success rate within their department. | |
